This page exists to explain how certain words are used on this site. It is not comprehensive and it is not entertaining. It exists for clarity and risk reduction.

Illegal
“Illegal” refers to any content, behavior, communication or material that violates applicable law.
This includes but is not limited to:
• Threats of violence or harm
• Harassment, stalking or intimidation
• Exploitation or abuse of any kind
• Distribution of illegal or restricted materials
• Instructions, encouragement or facilitation of criminal activity
• Attempts to evade law enforcement or legal responsibility
• Any activity that could reasonably result in arrest, charges, fines,
seizure, investigation or legal action
If a reasonable person would understand that an action or statement is unlawful, it is considered unlawful here.
If you are unsure whether something is illegal, assume that it is and do not post it. Asking whether something is illegal does not make it acceptable.
Interpretation
The interpretation and enforcement of these definitions is determined solely by the site operators.
Decisions may be made without notice, explanation or discussion. Edge cases will not be debated and loopholes will not be honored. “It was a joke” is not a defense.
This document may be modified, expanded, shortened or rewritten at any time for any reason.
